Darkstorm Build has been running for well over 11 years, that is a pretty long time. In those 11 years we accumulated well over 200 addons, many different bugs, and lots of lag. Some of that is cool, the rest really isn't. Because of that I worked with the team to absolutely gut the server of over 160 addons over the last month, test it, and squash some other bugs in the meantime.
Here's the remodel bragging rights
- 160+ addons removed, all while working with some of our key builders to make sure that things still work right longterm
- Many different lua errors and lag related bugs are entirely eliminated
- Game mounts for tf2, portal2, css, and l4d2 are all fixed, and lets not forget ep2
- Load times have improved by 8x what they were prior to the remodel
- 20GB less space in addons is being used
- Framerate has doubled on my very-much-not-a-gaming laptop
- Scoreboard has been removed and replaced with the classic gmod 12 scoreboard
- HUD has been removed as we focus on what the most FPS friendly option is going forward - we are open to feedback on this one
- Countless hours of manpower, troubleshooting, and research to make sure everything will run millions of times better than it used to.

- New limit system
- New versions of ULX and ULiB
- ACF 2.0 is finally retired after 10 years of somewhat faithful service - I grew up using ACF2, and first got good at it when I was 16, I am 26 now... it is time to update sadly. This means many of my own dupes, about 80 of them, are broken until I migrate them over to ACE from ACF2. It sucks, but I want you guys with ACF builds to know I am right there with you.
